CHAPTER 3 Integers!!! Number Systems

Good day Girls and Boys,

Today we embark on a new chapter called INTEGERS!  This is a review from 6th grade but it is so important to understand just what integers are!  Integers are Whole Numbers- so no fractions or decimals allowed in this group. Integers can be both positive and negative!  So on a number line, 0 cuts the line into the positive numbers and the negative numbers.  In this chapter you will be able to calculate all 4 of the operations ( + - x /) with integers, but also learn what they really represent.
Our second vocabulary term is Absolute Value.  Absolute Value is the DISTANCE from that number and 0.  Distance can only be positive, so Absolute Value is always positive.  We will go over this in class but ask questions if you do not understand this.
There will be a pop quiz over these videos on Thursday so make sure you do a nice job on your notes!

This little sweetheart belongs to Ellie. Look at her smile!

Homework: Read the blog, watch the videos and take notes in your new graphic organizer.
