PERCENT of Change

Hi Girls and Boys,
We are moving on with percent and this time it is PERCENT of Change.  Did you ever think there were so many topics on PERCENT?  Me either!
To change in math generally means to go up or down, and with percent of change, this is to measure the amount of change when things are marked up or marked down.  There will be several vocabulary terms in the next following lessons, so pay attention to them and really listen and learn what each means.  There are 3 formulas ( shortcuts ) to figure out the 3 types of change:
Percent of INCREASE = difference / original amount
Percent of DECREASE = difference / original amount
Percent of ERROR= difference /Actual amount
Hang on and ask questions along the way......
This little darling is Bandit and he belongs to Taylor.  He is eight years old and just taking a nap.  I think he thinks he's a baby!

Percent EQUATION

Good Day Girls and Boys,
We are looking at solving more PERCENT problems in a different way, this time with PERCENT EQUATIONS.  Percent Equations are so similar to Percent Proportions, the difference maybe hard to remember!  Let's see if you can do it!

This is Josh and his beloved dog, Pepper. She is a cross between a greyhound and a black lab.  What a darling puppy.

The Percent PROPORTION

Good Morning Girls and Boys,
We are moving onward to using percents as PROPORTIONS! Does this ring a bell?...... Proportions are having one ratio(fraction) equal to another, but in this case, one of the ratios will be a percent. On page 122 in your textbooks, there is a list of 3 ways to solve these types of problems.  We will go over these in class, but these will take some time and practice on your part to really understand them.

Hunter is a running machine! Here he is in a race and he came in number ONE for the k7th graders! Way to go Hunter!

PERCENT and ESTIMATION

Good Day to all of you,
We are moving onward with Percents and Estimations.  This lesson is such a practical lesson as using estimation skills will help you throughout your lives.  Having a general idea of how much things cost will help make certain that you are paying the correct price or receive the correct change when shopping.  We will dive deeper into percents and use our estimation skills in this lesson.  Ask any question you have.

This is Jasmine.  What a cutie !  She is loved by Erin.

Constant Rate of Change - Slope

Good Day to all,
We are building on Proportionality and moving on with Constant Rate of Change.  The words fairly much say it, Constant - meaning that the difference between the 2 unit stays the same, very much like equivalent fractions with labels.  Go through the videos and take notes and ask questions in class.
We are getting close to the end of the chapter, this means that there will be chapter test SOON.

This great looking pup is Sydney's and his name is Brady.  What a cutie.
